🐰March recap 🐰
March once again brought lessons on forging deeper connections and enhancing my understanding of people. It required stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing discomfort.
🌍World Economic Forum Challenge 💪
This month at TKS we had our second sprint and man was it a sprint ,my team and i choose to work alongside the World Economic Forum (WEF),the challenge statement was
"How do we utilize modern tools for education to help students understand global challenges and problems that exist in the world?”.
I was drawn to this challenge because of my personal belief that education should not be seen as a privilege; every child deserves quality education to enhance their nation's progress, fostering innovation. When discussing education with my team, we opted against standardized testing. Our research suggested that standardized testing stifles creativity, preventing children and young people from thinking unconventionally and understanding the 'why' behind school subjects.
We chose to focus on high school students in Mexico, despite none of us being Mexican. Our approach was based entirely on research and outreach.
This challenge resonated with me due to my personal experiences with an educational system in need of improvement; it was my driving force throughout.
Countless late nights ensued, with 2 am discussions and brainstorming sessions, alongside attending various Zoom meetings. Despite the chaos on my desk, I wouldn't trade those moments for anything. This challenge proved to be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences I've had. It pushed me to challenge myself and conduct extensive research, teaching me how to delve into intricate topics, gather statistics, and create slide decks.
Working with this team was a pleasure; I appreciated the level of challenge we faced. We submitted our slide deck with just 5 minutes to spare after an all-nighter that ended at 6 am. Despite the exhaustion, I would willingly do it all over again in a heart beat .
✍️More research✍️
Another privilege I had was conducting research in the fields of nanotechnology and material science. My team and I are currently focused on integrating nanotechnology into polyester fabrics to enhance their durability and lifespan. Stay tuned for further updates on our progress.
🏠Family over everything🏠
In the middle of all the craziness of my packed schedule, being with my family brought me so much happiness. It hit me how important it is to soak up these moments because they're the ones who always have my back and keep me grounded. With everything going haywire in the world, I realized how precious time with loved ones really is. I used to take having them around for granted, not realizing how much some people crave that kind of connection. On days when I felt totally wiped out, just going for a stroll with my family or chilling with them would recharge my batteries, even if they didn't know it. Their presence made dealing with the chaos way easier and kept me going strong.
🏆Nuggets of wisdom that kept me going for the month 🥔
This month, I made it a goal to read at least one book. I realized that with everything going on, it's easier to listen to an audiobook (which totally counts as reading in my book, no judgment here), here is the link to my main takeaways for the books of the month.
Prioritize family even if it is hard, if something is important to you i bet you will find time .
If there is a will ,there is a way

See you next month ⭐
